I have just acquired, 4 years after my 50th birthday a belated present from my wife. Now I have been playing guitar for years and I have been after this gem for a long time. I tried various offerings from all over the world and nothing touches the instruments crafted by the good folks at St Luis Obispo. Here is my new National 0, all the way from the US of A. Rings like a bell and wipes the floor with the pretenders. My wife and I talked about this since I picked one up in Bakersfield in 1990 and I was doubtful if I would ever pick one up again, let alone own one. I tried loads of copies, but the build, the sound and finishing does nt come close. I said "I think we better leave Hon, cos if I buy one of those (far east copy with American sounding names), I wont ever be happy, so I’ll pass. Anyway, long story short, the surgeons fixed my hand and she said “you cant take it with you, you best head up to town and get a real one.” So thanks National Resophonic for being uncompromising producing a quality product. Here she is. Quality bell brass body and maple neck, nothing else comes close. Lets face it, they ve been at isince 1930.dot and they have it spot on. The product second to none. Two prezzies in one, I get the use of my left had back to normal and this. I might have a whiskey tonight. Happy new year
Beautiful resonator.
My favorite guitarist, the late Rory Gallagher, played a similar National sometimes.
Ralph
Rod,
I too have lusted after one of these for many moons. They are beauty, pleasure and pride rolled into one. The sound is second to none because it IS THE SOUND !!! I was quite thrilled when I found they would be building them again. Congratulations!!!
By the way, whose legs are reflecting?
David
"By the way, whose legs are reflecting? "
I saw the same reflection, what the hell you doing with that thing?
Rod:
Great health news! Great guitar! Great wife! All presents to a great modeler!
Life is good!
Happy RRing,
Jerry
ps: Hope your music time doesn’t take too much away from your 1:22.5 modeling.
pps: Minor correction: National Reso-Phonic Guitars is in San Luis Obispo, Cailfornia.

Thanks guys, actually thats a borrowed pic, but its the same guitar. I’ll doa pic of mine later. I fogot to mention its got a Highlander pickup factory fitted. You cant see them and it has no impact on the sound. I had a good look over it last night before bed and its absolutley 100% flawless. The finish, the binding, the fretwork fingureboard etc , perfect.
Yep, Rory was Top, June 14th was a sad day.
A resonator! Very cool. You can’t duplicate that sound
Greg Deering and I were adult leaders in Boy Scouts in San Diego. I had the opportunity to purchase one of his banjos. Sweet sound.
Ex-wife has it.
That is one sweet git-fiddle you have.
Now, let’s hear your rendition of Foggy Mountain Breakdown…
I would think a little “Dust My Broom” would be a better choice with a resonator
Tim Allen, member of the Banjo Hall of Fame, plays both parts of "Dueling Banjos on a single banjo.

Wait for it!
Ahh Stevie, miss him.
When as a kid I first heard him, I thought he was some dude from Mississippi or the like, when found he was from that “Little Island”, you could have knocked me over with a feather! Same for that Clapton chap…
