Arrived back (UK) from deepest Catalonia this morning to find a parcel all the way from Philly waiting for me. As promised Jack Lynch had arranged for a new axle, wheels and gear for my dead Connie to be shipped to me. Look forward to getting it going soon.

Been a lot of gripes about Bachmann lately and I have been as grumpy as any, so it is a nice change to be able to post something complimentary. Easy to bitch and then forget your manners and say thanks when some one takes the trouble to dig you out of a hole. So thanks Jack and your team, for your trouble, I appreciate it.

Don’t remember anybody else getting those parts without having to send the whole loco in. You must have PULL!

I guess the squeaky wheel didn’t get his gear. So much for that theory.

A friend of mine just ordered the same thing from Bachmann, took almost exactly 2 weeks, got the axle assembly with wheels, axle bearings and gear, $20.

It can be done by normal humans.
