Large Scale Central

Texas State Railroad

Subject: Texas State Railroad located near Palestine, Texas south of Tyler* in the Big Piney Woods Area of East Texas

Today, the committee of citizens from Anderson & Cherokee Counties chose American Heritage as the private operator for the Texas State Railroad. There were approximately 30 submitters of which only 4 were invited to make formal presentations.

Presentations were made today by:

American Heritage (owner operator of the Durango and Silverton)

Serria Railroad (operator of Skunk, a couple of other trains and soon the V & T)

Rio Grand Pacific (Trancilla)

Patriot (unknown)

This should eliminate the probability of the railroad becoming a static display.

I rode this train and it is a Great Train Ride in 1920s Era Pullman Heavyweight Coaches pulled by a Baldwin 2-8-0 Steam Loco from the same era.
