Testing, testing

Had to go and get the Consolidation from the shop and try out the sound in the garden.

The whistle isn’t loud enough to wake the neighbour two houses over, probably calls for “Plan B”.

You don’t like the neighbour two houses over?

He’s got chain-link fence up…must have an issue with them neighbooooors.

The fence is to slow the bears down until HJ can get into shelter. At least, that's the theory.

Har di har har, wrong on all counts.

The neighbour is most anxious to hear that train whistle, he’s been bugging me about getting the “stuff” running for the last three years. So now it’s running.

The chainlink fence is to keep the huskies at home, the most talented of the escape artists we had to put down - leukemia - first week of July. She would have been fourteen on Aug 19th. That leaves “Duchess” who seems to be mighty intrigued by the sound of the steamer.

Nah!! That is just to try and frustrate and deter battery R/C users as chain link fencing is notorious for doing just that.

Little does he know that 2.4GHz has no effect whatsoever.

and the neighbors want to keep HJ under lock & key you know…

BTW: HJ, sweet consist!

Have Fun: Jeff

Yes this may be so, however I did see a coating on that fence and who is to say that the coating does not have special 2.4GHz repellants impregnated into it? Along with air cooled water pumps, flux capacitors and muffler bearings?
Just a thought?

Thinking, thinking, thinking.

…grinning…

Polk Dust.
Ancilliary to Pixie Dust, but this stuff doesn’t work.
That’s what the fence is coated with.

A friend showed up with an engine and a coach. Result: first video of the layout in action. As you’ll see, there’s lots of work still to be done … however …

“Heidi” on RhB layout Grischun

BTW I was asked if the speed is prototypical, yep top speed - on the flat and straight track - is 45kph (<30mph). Besides isn’t everyone in a hurry as is? Time to slow down! :stuck_out_tongue:

HJ,

Battery, track power or live steam? Good smoke, if battery or track power. Good speed, if live steam. Your track work, plants and rocks looks great!

Great video, HJ. You have really done some good work on your layout.

Nice work on the railroad HJ!

Ric et al,

Thank you Gentlemen!

Power is DCC, the smoke generator is one of the Massoth units with the timed puffing. I am amazed how much the plants fill in in such a short time - first stuff went in last summer.

Next video being uploaded is the RhB Connie.

What's the difference between polk dust and polka dots? Does it have anything to do with different frequency bands?

And… Pixie Dust? That would be spread by the Tinker Bell Troll, right?

Matthew (OV)

VERY nice HJ , really senic , shows that a LOT of work has been done , looking good .
Yes the plants have really added so much to the scenery .

VERY nice to hear correct number of chuffs per revolution…we like the ‘Heidi’ locomotive a lot - not enough to buy one at about $1400 with full MTS, but still, a lot.

I was also wanting to look at the Regner version, as Herr Regner was supposed to have been at the Llanfair show, but he didn’t appear the day that I was there…and, of course, nor did his live steam ‘Heidi’.

Shame that.
