Large Scale Central

Tearing down

Well before even getting to run any of my trains this year the whole thing is being dismantled and packed up. Reason being we are trying to purchase a house of our own and from what we have seen it is a scary sight out there with a lot of the houses is such distress. But we have an offer in on a house with a great back yard that will be perfect for our new large layout.

Thank goodness for my wife because one of the first things she looks for in a house is the size and levelness of the yard for the trains. We’ll see how it goes.

good luck…

This certainly is the time to buy. 15 & 20 Year mortgages are in the 4’s with Zero points, prices are waty down and that new-home buyer credit is pretty nice too.

Hopefully congratulations will be in order soon.

Agree good time to buy bad time to sell. Good luck.

Go for it! Congratulations.

There are a lot of “short sales” out there now as well. Check with your realtor for those, and be sure to request a full inspection before placing a bid.

Happy hunting!

Just tore ours up for the 2nd time in 5 years, moved and not really sure when/If it’ll ever go back down…

Sean,

The only advice I have is to spend the couple hundred dollars required and hire a ‘Certified Home Inspector’. He will save you the money you spend on him in hidden (undisclosed) repairs later.

Cale,

With those boys, you better be having a plan to rebuild. It may not seem to be a high priority to you, but it will certainly be a childhood memory for the boys.

I have to agree. You need something especially since you have the track and trains.

You may be moving but let the fun begin with the new ideas that you may incorporate into the new RR. Always a great challenge when one does that. Later RJD
