Tank Car for the Rotary Snow Plow

Well thanks guys, I appreciate your kind comments, but retired teachers can’t get from coast to coast much. Marty’s once a year is about it for me, so ya’ll come there!

Had fun with this step. Found a neat shape for the hatch on top, then put a metal rod slip on end piece on top of that. Bent brass for the rails. The ladders came from a free one foot piece I got from the lumber yard, it’s wire that is 1/2" apart in squares, almost scales out right, close enuf for me anyway! Ends are just stuck on till I get the RC/batt setup figured out. THen will paint it, still have to design up the decals.

I got some laser decals printed off that I worked up on my iMac with the Color It art program. I like the laser decals, no matter what I did the ink jets seemed to run on me.

Now, if the wind ever stops I’ll put it out with the rotary for a pix.

Hmmm needs rivets…heheheheheheh

Jerry did you used MAtte Medium or Acrylic Clear? I have found the MAtte Medium is not good for decals…but I’ve had good luck using the Acrylic clear…still ya have to be careful with too much water and too much decal set…

Jerry,

That really comes across looking like an insulated car. Very nice!

Thanks guys, I shot it with Krylon Satin clear. Decals went on fine with water that I put a drop of liquid soap in. Good thing, my jar of decal stuff was empty.

Good looking car, Jerry… Nice job building and painting/decaling it…

Nice job.
I have some black laser decals that have been outside for over a year with no fading.
The colors quickly faded, but black has held up fine.

Nice work Jerry

Very nice work

Here’s a shot from yesterday with the two together for the first time.

Nice. Sure does look small behind that monster  And it’s interesting how the silver picks up the surrounding green color from the garden.
