T&LB Garden Railroad to Host Open Houses on Aug 16-17, 2014

Todd and Linda Brody are pleased to invite you, your family, and your guests to the T&LB Garden Railroad. The railroad won the Garden Railways Magazine 2013 competition for garden railways and has been featured in numerous publications and videos. The landscape covers about 1,200 square feet with about 600 feet of track and six bridges, including a 14-foot long trestle. Using simple track power, the railroad can run itself fully automated with up to seven trains that slow and/or wait for each other as necessary to avoid collisions at crossing points.

Nestled in hills above North Tustin, the layout is built around two volcanic areas that spew into various lakes through waterfalls. The volcano’s geothermal activity lets the Chameleon Caverns towns’ folk “take the hot springs” for both health and recreational activities. All vegetation is real and the miniature garden is to scale. The layout features dozens of structures, over 300 people and animals, cars, motorcycles, etc. all at a scale of ½ inch per foot.

New for 2014 are the passenger service operations between the Lizard Lane loading platform and Alligator Lizards in the Air aerial tram and ticketing areas. The Terrapin Tar Pits excavation, where dinosaur bones are being excavated and put on display, and the Bear Whiz Beer Icing Facility are now in full operation. There may even be a visit from the local, loco cholos trying to hoist their beer on the townsfolk. Don’t forget to bring your camera!

Sat and Sun, August 16 - 17, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p,m.
