T-5000 Throttle arrived today

I just received my new Airwire T-5000 throttle today and it is a great improvemnt over the T-9000. I had the batteries installed and programmed for my C-19 in under 90 seconds. Very nice menu and straight-forward programming. The range seems to be about double what I was getting with my T-9000.

Thanks Gary for the update. I’m going to order 2 of them tomorrow. I have 1 of the 9000 and 5 of the 1300 and I
like the 1300 a lot more that the 9000. In fact I have not used the 9000 in over a year. I have excellent range with
the 1300 in all of my locomotives but 1 of the Accucraft K-28. It is the same with either throttle, about 50 feet. We
will see if this new throttle will help it. The main thing I do not like about the 9000 and the 5000 is the continuous
pot used on the throttle knob.

Rodney,

I have two of the T-9000’s and now this T-5000. Something new for the 5000 is you can change the transmitting power. 0 to 10, 0 the least, 10 the most power. 5 is about equal to the T9000. I set mine to 10 and found the range better than with my 9000. Another thing I really like about the 5000 is that the speed steps show on the menu all the time. So when you are dialing down in speed, you can see when you reach stop or 0. All in all, a nice product.

Write up with pictures?? :)

It looks like a great product…I love the dial throttle. Sadly as it will not work with track power I am out in the cold on this one. Wish they offered a base station option.

CVP does offer “EASY DCC” command station. I’ve been using it since it came out in 1998 on my N-scale
layout. I have 8 of the 1300 wireless throttles for it. The only difference in the Airwire and EASY DCC throttles is
a chips that need changed.

Thanks Rodney…Interesting. I did not see that when viewing their website on the T-5000.

The new T5000 is not ready for EASY DCC yet.

Yeah, figured that out pretty quick when I went back to look. Still looks like a great product for the battery guys!

Darn, My order still shows “in progress” from RLD. Oh well. I guess I have to be patient.
