SWGRS Finds, whatcha get?

I came, I saw, I bought some #&$% Went to the show, great turn out, lot more vendors than last June, and the vendors there had some great prices, saw lots of people leaving hauling a whole bunch of stuff, Hans from Gold Coast Station said he might have to back to Ventura to get more stock for Sunday! Great show, got to catch up with the Door Hollow Crew, once again thanks for the hospitality. Howard Maculsay brought over this super cool live steam rail truck:

Wish I could find that St Bernard dog figure. Got to out a few more names to faces but dispite wearing the big hat and the hula girls shirt as I said I would, I never crossed paths with Marty Cozad, oh well. I came with no real intention to buy anything other than a view detail pieces, but ended up with a pretty good haul of stuff! First up was a bunch of detail stuff from Just Plain Folks This really cool ceramic cactus was only $15:

this one was only $10!!

I got this Bachmann Donkey from Hans, already test fitting it on a car:

One vendor across from Hans had a small selection of figures for only a $1 each !! Cant pass that up! Got one each:

I even got some actual TRAIN stuff, 2 LGB Ore Cars $15 each, again at the loony prices some are asking for LGB I wont pass these up:

And the last thing I got was this HLW Waddling Goose with trailer car, at $75 for the pair I just couldnt pass it up:

On the Vendor End, the one thing I saw that will likely be on my MUST HAVE list next year was this Civil War Railgun, coming from Ozark Miniatures:

Its fully operational as in it WILL fire! and it will be R1 compliant to boot!!! David Hill will want one of these, they are looking at a lineup of Civil War items, David!! Not many pics this year as my camera decided its batteries needed to die soon after a few more pics at the Fairplex GR, oh well. What else did you guys get, I know you gots stuff as I saw LOTS of merchandise going out the doors

Victor it was great to meet you and Doug.
I was hoping to find some stuff but did not have any luck with what I am looking for. MoPac pass cars. I did find out that USA is still making them so there is hope I can find them at a good price some were. I got to talk to Bruce from Colorado Modles. I am looking forward to some of the new stuff he is going to be coming out with soon I hope. It was a nice show and what a set up the Fairplex has.

Victor,
The Civil War Railgun is way cool. What was the price ? It will be on my wish list for sure.
Great price on the Hartland Waddlin Goose. I wouldn’t of passed that one up either.
Hula girl shirt and big hat…have you been raiding my closet
Ralph

Geoff it was nice to talk to you and Doug also.

Ralph no price as yet, I was told it would be about the same ballpark as the Climax kit.

Sorry no more show pics, my camera kept saying the batteries were dead even though I put in a freshly charged set before I left, changed them at home and took the layout pics last night, oh well theres always next year.

Saw the Cannon car and immediately thought of David…what a deal on the HLW lil’ Goose…and LGB cars (I think those would do nice in 7/8 as well)…nice finds!

Glad Y’all (you guys) had fun!

I can vouch for Ralph with the hat and shirt

cale

Victor…I saw that you posted a picture of my Live Steam Rail Truck sitting on the Door Hollow layout. Glad you enjoyed it. You mentioned later later in the same message that you’d like to find that St. Bernard figure. Well, here goes: It’s a Woodland Scenic’s G Scale Figure A2524, “Rover & Felix” @ $14.49. You get the dog with a cat sitting on a metal trash can.
Go here: Woodland Scenics

Victor, I noticed that you had picked up a Log Skidder at the show in November. I got one at the end of 2009 and did nothing with it. But seeing your post encouraged me get the log skidder a flat car. Over the last few days I finished placing the Skidder on its Flat and adding a few details (more to come). Anyway, here’s some pictures after a light weathering. I wanted to get rid of the plastic look.
