I might consider using a CL2N3 driver instead of a resister. They are a bit more than a resister but they are idiot proof in the future if your power source goes out and they replace with a higher voltage power source. Most of this will go up to 90v.

You can put the resister or driver anywhere on the wires. Doesn’t have to be right next to the LED.

This has been quite a slow-moving project; I guess I’ve been too distracted by the Sutro RR booklets I’m writing. But, a little progress on the lighting.
Cliff, if you do go all out OCD, could you wire the lamps upside down? After all the diorama can’t be seen from all sides.

Bill, I assume you mean install the led’s at the top of the “glass”? Yes, I could have designed for that, and let the wires exit near the top. But I only noticed the problem after I finished, so that’s how they’ll stay for this effort.

These get blackened, then the (1.2mm OD) “candle” tube gets painted off-white.

It took awhile to wire up the connectors & resistors for both candles and lanterns, but I think these are done now.

I’ve been taking a break from hobby stuff, because we’ve been in Mexico for over week (and will be for a few more days).
We’re here mainly for a family wedding; but we were able to take in a few sights.
Teotihuacan has long been a bucket-list item for me… this is the Temple of the Sun pyramid.
This is a pan in front of the smaller Temple of the Moon pyramid.
I hate those kinda places as bad things happen at the top with the start of the summer solstice during a lunar eclipse!

And it’s a LONG way up those stairs… I climbed as high up as they allowed, with D, SIL, and two of my GD’s.
Over dinner, I opined that the priests climbing up there must have been pretty buff, but sometimes there were surely human error issues at the top. Like some priest telling another, “Ok, hand me the heart.” “I don’t have the heart, you said you did.” “It was your turn!!” And things go seriously downhill for one of them…

As a matter of fact, let’s see, 14,781 steps yesterday, at ~2 feet per step, that’s 5.6 miles! My record I think, at least in recent dacades…
