Superliner backwoods style

Last year at the York train show I picked up an LGB Forney that came with a PA combine and refrig car. I really didnt have a use for them since I have a logging Railroad. Then the last Challenge came up and I built a backwoods train station. That also ment I neded a passenger car. I took the LGB car and painted it green and then weathered it. In the process I broke the cheap rails off the ends. Now i had to get new ones. A simple solution was to take some metal rod and wood and make new ones. They didnt have to be perfect after all its running in the backwoods for very limited passenger service. Not the most beautiful look car but now that guys can get some visitors and mail.

…grinning…

Looks good Shawn. The guys do what they can with the materials that they can scrounch from the shops.
And some way to get their beer and smokes brought in as well.

Shawn,
Not just visitors and mail. The loggers have to get to the camps too.
And you have to get supplies and groceries to the camps.
So the KMRR might have a use for a Reefer too.
Ralph

NO Ralph the KMRR takes the reefer from the hikers so they have plenty of that…

Nice looking combine Shawn. The opening windows are cool. LGB did something right!

Jon, how did you letter the car? I have seven bachmann cars I have repainted that I want to letter.

Aw, and here I was expecting a narrow gauge, wood double-decker.

Nice job. For some reason, the proportions of theLGB car just fit your railroad perfectly.

Later,

K

LOL thanks guys. Maybe some they can expand and purchase another coach if the price is right.

Kevin I was originally going to use a bachmann combine but it was a little too big. The LGB seemed to fit all my other stuff. Maybe my next will be a double decker you got me thinking LOL

Shawn toss a bench on the roof and call it a open air double decker.

If you want littler coaches, don’t forget the Aristo or USA “Sierras”.
I had a real cute set of Deltons years ago.

Looks good!
