Hi all, Every year (for the last 4-5 years) our Garden RR club sets up our modular display railroad in the park on an October afternoon and invites the public to enjoy the fun. Today’s event was a great success and we all had a lot of fun. Great turnout, just a steady flow of young and old to enjoy the perfect weather and the running trains. During a lull in the action I was able to snap a couple of pictures. here is the module set up under an Oak Tree. In the background you can see Union Pacific’s crossing of the sacramento River. Nearly a mile long bridge and trestle combination that adds some great background effects to our efforts.

A close up view of the logging camp on one corner of the module.

For several years I have had a Freight transfer shed on my railroad where freight is manually transfered from the Standard gauge cars to the narrow gauge cars and back again. I have been “agonna” build a standard gauge car, either flat or box to park on the standard gauge siding to show the size comparison between the two gauges. Well needless to say I never have. Today I was gifted a standard gauge boxcar by a fellow club member and good friend. I was quite stunned by the generosity of the gift and the beautiful workmanship that went into it’s building and painting/weathering. I couldn’t wait to get some pictures of it in place so here it is at the transfer shed with a narrow gauge car on the right.

A clear view of the car itself.

A little better view for size comparison between the standard and narrow gauge cars in 1:20.3 scale

Hope your Sunday was fun also. Rick
