Even if our summer weather on the desert gets hot it is so pleasant to go outside before sunrise with that first cup of coffee and run trains

I’ve never experienced the desert. Maybe I should put it on my bucket list. Anyway, Doug, enjoy your morning coffee and train run!
P.S. I’m enjoying our summer up here, too! I gotta nice big shady tree…
I agree. The early morning desert is wonderful. The colors are amazing. I must say though, early morning in most places is the best time of the day. There is something peaceful about the quiet new day feeling I get. Even in my suburban Costa Mesa neighborhood. I love going out to get the paper in the morning and looking over at my railroad to see what new growth was brought during the night.
With the amount of rainy/cloudy days we have been getting Im ready to move to the desert. Nothing beats a cup of coffee in the morning.

Does your Mommy know you’re drinking coffee?

Edit for …your, you’re , you are
Late afternoon/early evening in the desert are nice too, as the heat of the day begins to dissipate, a little breeze blows in, the sky gradually darkens and the critters come out of hiding.
Doug, I live on the coast in the NE and can say that the best times of day are sunrise and sunset. Always found that to be true no matter where I lived. The sun angles at that time of day provide much better light. And as to the heat… all the people I know up here who like it here think it’s hot once it gets past 80 deg F… I know go ahead laugh
I guess I’m one of those, Larry! Around here we say, “It’s not the heat so much, it’s the humidity!” Of course, there’s also the comfort of knowing that at least it’s not snow, so, the big comeback around here is “At least you don’t have to shovel it”. Right now our June weather is absolutely perfect, so I’m taking full advantage of it to work out there on my big freightyard project. But right now it’s 7 AM and I’m fixin’ to go outside and have that mmmmm good smelling coffee. ;>))))
Cheers, everyone!
We had a great open house yesterday but today I’m in recovery mode.
We hosted the Lancaster Northern Rail Road group, the Ipland Garden Railroad Society and Large Scale Central. It was great seeing everyone but it will take me a few days to recover!
Now I can catch up on all the other projects I’ve put off this past month!
Doug,
Where are the pictures ? I hope you didn’t pull a “Shawn”
Glad to hear it was a success
Ralph
I actually didn’t get a chance to get a single picture but you will probably be seeing some!
Yep…dry and dusty
Thanks John. At least you got some!
If you look closely in the shadow behind the ore bin you’ll see a brand new hole burrowed by a squirrel! He must have wanted to be part of the action!
