Summer running 2025

Had a operating session today on the RGSNH . the stock extra was running heavy so a mid train helper was used.

RGS #20 on the passenger train at Ophier

RGS #40 was on the local

A good time was had by all. Stan brought brownies, thanks Deb.

and we all enjoyed a snack.

Nice RR. That is neat to see the helper in the middle of the train.

That’s awesome in many ways and the layout looks great Al. Whats really awesome is Stan brought brownies man!!

I threw these in the Spring running thread however it was technically late spring early summer so I’m gonna re-post them here only for post count cause that’s important not running trains.

Great run, Al. Your trains are great, and I love your layout.

It’s great that Stan and Deb are close enough to attend. I’m sure they were amazed by your basement expansion.

Cliff,

Only Stan Visited this time, Deb is getting around better, but stayed home, as stairs are still difficult for her.

Good stuff Rooster. The Superliners going over that bridge looks amazing.

Great running, Rooster.

I like how you added a couple of ‘heritage cars’ at the end. Is that the right term?

This weekend is Tuckahoe Steam & Gas Summer Show, and amazing amalgam of traction engines, vintage tractors, sawmills, etc., etc.
Mike took the Aikenback track, so we all had a great time. This is my ‘Countess’ [renamed Edward, or Eddie for short.]

There were lots of noisy traction engines!

A few more photos from Tuckahoe Steam and Gas…my SPNG #9 and train + my WD trench engine with log cars and log loader from the Lost River Lumber Company in Wardensville, WV.

And my C 16 with tractor and dozer and shovel loads.

The Triple O offers the following:

Performers retire to their bunks after a busy day helping the Island of No’u’ea celebrate the Glorious Fourth! A boxcar, meanwhile is loaded and ready to supply the inhabitants with goods recently unloaded at the Haluk’ilio

Three Eyes, the only night capable engine serving the M&K Sugar Co., heads in with the last load from the most recently harvested field.

Later in the summer, Mack pulls empties out of the mill to stage them for the next day’s work…

While Princess pulls a short commuter. The nature of the topography of No’u’ea precludes a meaningful road system, so little steam engines pulling short trains serve as the island’s buses and panel trucks.
