SULTRAN - sulphur gons

My local gas company has been shipping molten sulphur, but recently decided to start shipping solids. SULTRAN is supplying them with three cars.

Another winter project getting painted. First car is complete.

Where did you get the decals? Matt at Circus City?

Rooster, Cliff is right. I’ve been stuck in my room all winter. :open_mouth:

John, I cut paint masks with my Cameo Silhouette and paint all of my markings.

Spring yard construction has put most projects on the back burner, but the Sultran gons are finally ready for service. :open_mouth:

Super job on those cars Shane. Will you be dusting them up or keeping them sharp and clean?

Thanks Guys.

Sean, I know. This week we’ve had rain everyday, but it looks like construction weather is returning tomorrow.

Todd, I used pastels on them, and flat coated them, but none of it shows in the photos. I have found that pastels work much better on light coloured cars. Maybe I’ll give these some long summer sun exposure and see if I can get some natural fading.

“One wheel truck” ++

Shane has a lot more cars to paint to keep up with that video!

Yikes, it took me 5 years to build my 20 car coal train. I can’t imagine building a 100 car train. I don’t think I have enough years left. :stuck_out_tongue:

So, Sultran purchased their steel cars from CN and CP, hence the two styles of cars. The CP style in Rooster’s photo is still on my wish list, so there could be a couple more Sultrans in the future.

Wow Rooster, you even found a train on my old territory.

I feel better now, Shane. I feel like it’s been taking several years to do my 12-car ore car train… So thanks.

:grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

And how many years to build your trestle… not done… so still counting :kissing:

Inspiration ???

Just freshened my trestle up a bit. Getting ready for Amtrash.

Might have to run a couple of CP powered trains, not because I want to but because I can. Besides I have no other use for them anyway.

More inspiration ?

This is all Sean’s fault!

Looking pretty nice Rooster. Yes, with all of my construction, I haven’t even had a spring run yet. I’m hoping to have the lower mains back in service by the end of the week. New upper mains probably won’t be operational until next summer.

I’ve been digging out all the ballast I had stashed as fill and replacing with clay. The clay mountain is slowly shrinking. :stuck_out_tongue:
