Never seen a Combine quite like that. Interesting.
I’m sorry I missed seeing that LO&S motor car running. The little, old and slow ran near here up to Peach Bottom and Quarryville. Parts of the old ROW are visible if you know where to look for them.
I have a watercolor print of the Motorcar crossing Market Street in Oxford that was done by a local artist but I see on his website that it’s no longer available.

This one hangs in the hallway:

Was the little yellow rail bus #21 at the PA RR Museum or Strasburg RR? It is looking a little rougher than the last time I saw it. Always liked it, but never had a chance to ride it. When everyone said the rail bus was running, I thought they meant #21.

Doesn’t look to be in any shape to run

It’s good to see the C&PA (Couldersport & Port Allegany) plow back together again. they rebuilt it from the ground up when they went to do cosmetic repairs and found that the main timbers were dry rotted from the inside out.
Thanks for sharing the photos! It’s time to trek across the state again to visit sometime soon!

Ric, The Mack is inside at the PA RR Museum. Ralph

Teh Mack was across the street at Strausburg for atime though…then it was stuck outside at the Museum when first I was there about 5-6 years ago, then found its way inside the Museum. It is an important piece to me because it is former Buffalo Creek and Gauley Railbus A and ran in passenger service on that line ito the 60s. IT was actually the last victim of an armed railroad holdup in the late 50’s during a Miner’s Strike…
I remember it from Strausburg, probably 15 years ago. Great modeling prototype. One not much different than that ran along the Mississippi River on the Illinois Terminal between Grafton and Alton. They didn’t want to electrify that part of the line so ran the rail bus. The IT unit is painted orange and is now cosmetically refurbished at the Museum of Transportation in St. Louis County. I understand it has a blown rod.
Ralph,
Nice shots…the CVRR car is the oldest know in the states and ran the trackage behind the Hen house.

According to - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PRR_3936_and_3937 they are early light rail type electric locos.

That’s what’s called a DD-1. PRR DD1 PRR/West DD1 3rd rail for NYC , They were used to haul passenger trains into the city rather than steam loco’s. http://abpr.railfan.net/abprphoto.cgi?august05/08-14-05/PRR3967atNewYork6-62MacOwenColl.jpg&redirect=1 They were the forerunners to the PRR’s GG-1’s.
