Strasburg #90 Plowing Snow

Some snow came early this year and on the day before Thanksgiving (that’s the one here in the US) I was out with my 2-10-0 model of Strasburg #90 plowing the snow. I hope you enjoy this video:

Purty kewl!

We had a bit more then you did and it was a wet and heavy snow.

One thing wrong though. Strassburg plows tender first since they have no way to turn the engine…

Good video. Something I do not have to contend with here in Florida!

Very neat video CZ She was working hard in that wet snow. Great way to wake up this morning.

Funny Ken mentions that, there was another plow video that came up afterward that showed just that!

Nice job CZ When you get some fluffy snow be sure to make another video that wet stuff is too much work though I did like it when the sound changed on your loco telling us that is was really working.
It did a nice job.

Randy,

Everything is stored in the Yard in Strassburg, and all the engines face west, away from Paradise. Since there’s no turntable there, The engines all run tender first out to Paradise, run around the train and then engine first back to Strassburg,

I was debating for the days leading up to this snow about plowing tender first or not. If I plowed tender first then I’d get tons of questions from people who don’t know why (the majority of the population) versus if I ran it like this I’d get only questions from those who are in the know (the tiny minority).

I went with the majority.

It is kind of like a friend of mine who models in O Scale (2Rail) and purposely (he says) built a hopper car kit with the brake wheel opposite the other brake bits and uses it as a test to see if people notice, “What’s wrong with this car?” Well, you sir have passed the test!

Great video C Z thanks
