Storage issues

Recently I grew weary of trying to figure out how to keep my rolling stock stored without damaging them, so came up with this. Basically a couple of shelves with 2 inch wide, 1/8th inch deep routing. The shelves are 2 feet wide and 4 feet long. With 5 different ‘tracks’ thats 40 feet of storage in an area 4 feet long and less than 3 feet wide. A workbench on the top and a storage drawer for tools and parts completed the project. Less than 40 bucks deep, and I have a bench and storage to keep them safe… Yes it is a tall workbench, but sitting on a stool, the bench is right where a blind guy like myself needs it.

A half inch square wood strip keeps them from travelling off of the end of the shelf.

Very good use of space. I might try the same in my small train shed.

I HAD to do something. ‘Stuff’ was getting too spread out, and I had no workbench a height that worked for me, being as tall as I am.
Thanks for the positive comment.

Nice idea Don, that should work well for you

Storage is a big problem for me too.
Glad to see you came up with a solution that works for you.

Next I need to solve storig buildings in a small space, which will not be an easy one…
