Large Scale Central

Still Too Icy to Run Trains

The sun is out today and the ice is finally starting to melt.

This oak branch is normally about ten feet above the tracks but it is really sagging due to the weight of the ice. Hope it doesn’t come crashing down!

The Alberta Spruces and ground covers don’t seem to mind the ice. However, this stretch of track doesn’t look too good.

Oh well … only three more months till Spring.

Looks Like a nice layout Bob, Post some more pics. Please.

Looks like my layout a few weeks ago.

Ron,

Hopefully, it will be a nice layout if I ever get it finished. It is a “work in progress.” Slow progress … that is. I have been documenting the project as I go on my web site. There are posts on various topics, a few “how-to” articles, and miscellaneous materials. Lots of photos included in the posts and articles. My web site is:

I have been busy the past few months working on a structure for the layout. I haven’t documented it yet on my web site, but you can follow my progress on another forum at:

You do have a nice layout, “work in progress” including the ‘PAZ’ and new ideas surface all the time, sometimes after viewing other’s creations or added touches on the empires.

Just checked the local temp range: 19-21* F and no ice since everything melted; our 4 day temp swing was 19F to a record breaking 65F and now the 19*F.

I am running MTH with the TIU for now, outside in the truck box atach’d to the side of the RR! Pulled my F-7 AA pair out, havn’t run for a year and after about 15 minutes of running yesterday, battery was showing OK.

Time for running.

Did run for about a half hour; Aristo manual switch mechanisms, most were frozen however I managed to run the NW Switcher, a caboose and shoved the track cleaner on both outer and inner loops. Just to cold for my hands!

Left the engine and caboose parked in the shop building, but now we are getting more snow! Maybe another 2"s of the white stuff…

Enjoy everyone.
