Sticking switch on Airwire transmitter

My Airwire transmitter got caught out in the rain last week. I let it air dry for 5 days, then hit it with contact cleaner. It works now, just fine, but the on/off switch sometimes gets stuck.

What is the collective wisdom on lubing that switch? Graphite? WD-40? LaBelle’s?

By all means use graphite.
It might switch on for sure then.

Permanently.

Me thinks that Tony speaks with forked tongue behind his crooked teeth.

First, I would remove the batteries and then work the switch back and forth MANY times. This might fix the problem. If that doesn’t work, if you can find any, TV contact cleaner would be good to clean the contacts. I assume that you are opening the case. From there, you can spray the cleaner on the inside of the switch and work it back an forth.

Steve,
Did you use the lubricated or non lubricated contact cleaner? Rat Shack sells both.
If you really feel the need to lube the switch,I’d try the lubricated cleaner if you haven’t already. It’s non conductive.

In the past, I’ve just taken these apart and wipe around all the buttons with a dry “Q-tip”. Crud seems to gather there.
