Large Scale Central

Stepping out of the shadows

Once there were two, as a late comer to large scale I joined both.
I did my teething ‘over there’ and hopefully all that’s behind me now…
No more nickname, for those trying to get a handle on my name, we pronounce that mess o’ letters as Coy, yep no foolin.

I’ve modeled in Z, Nn3, HO and On3. On3 was my serious modeling time, but eyes and job changes and a destructive cat sent me outdoors.
I don’t take my modeling so serious anymore, gone is flex track and easement curves. In it’s place I try to make sectional track look good enough. I run small engines and cars that stay mostly between the rails. My era is 1920s with second hand equipment. Still using wood burners… out in the Arizona desert.

I’ve had 3 other large scalers over to run, but I don’t get out much…

John

Welcome Aboard John!

welcome to the group…

Welcome Good to see someone else running smaller engines.

Welcome John. We like all kinds of layouts / models here from ready-to-run on a small circle to highly detailed models on exquisitely detailed indoor and outdoor layouts and everything in between. A common philosophy here is Your Railroad, Your Rules.

And we do like pictures! If you need any help posting pics just give a holler, or take a look at the thread: http://www.largescalecentral.com/forums/topic/20241/picture-posting-help-for-rick-ma

Hey John,

Welcome over here.

Welcome, John. Thanks for stopping by!

Welcome. Yep, this group likes pichers! I think it’s easier to look than read.

Welcome, John, from tac and the crew mostly stuck here in yUK most of year, apart from when we are let out. I, too, have a small track - not only that - it is totally without any imagination, except that which exists between my ears. You can see it on Youtube - tac’s trains.

Luckily for me, I have many good and dear friends on this site, and have been privileged over the years to meet up wth many of them when we get home to the family plot in SE Ontario, or over in Oregon.

I have no doubt, given the opportunities available here, that you will do the same, in your way.

Best to you
