Steaming in Cape Coral

Unusually for SW Florida, we had an overcast, humid, 78 degree day at Jameel’s new track, so the steam was visible. Jameel had taken the shortcut to getting an elevated garden layout running while he works full time, so it is all steel and pre-configured.

I had my new De Winton for its first run and he had a brand new Accucraft Mogul.

As you can see, lots of steam action:

And finally, the second run with my flat cars and his freight crossing at the bridge. Steam is rising to the height of the roof! (Jameel in the background taking the pic from the opposite direction.)

Peat, the pics are awesome. love the de Winton. Any video?

Looks good Pete. Im a little jealous of all the Green and 78 degree temps.

Shawn, I have green grass here. Though the 78 is a bit nicer, well see what is in store for DH weather in 2 weeks.

Nice to have some bridges in there. When is the open house in the winter?

I was toying with the idea of a winter open house. Maybe end of febuary sometime.

I meant at Jameels, rather steam up in the warm sunshine. Hahahaha

Oh - are you coming to Florida then? Run days at T&ARR are the third weekend of every month, or whenever you can get there with a member. Larry and I go mid-week when we can fit it in.

I doubt Jameel is planning an open house any time soon - he only just finished laying track.

Thanks for the pics. De Winton looks nice. I’m close to Tampa this week but not much above 68 and raining today so no running steam today. Later RJD

Hmm, I’m flying into Ft Lauderdale, next Friday…

Check out Tradewinds Park North, and the T&ARR. Just inland from FtL.

The gauge-1 layout is usually in operation on Run Days to amuse the line waiting for a ride. Here’s some pics from my visit last spring.

Thanks Pete, I’ll check into it.
