Steam pump

I’m the proud owner of this resin whatthehellisit pump casting. It looks like it was for liquid transfer (oil?), not air. I’ve seen similar before, but can’t remember where. No it isn’t as badly warped as the photo shows, either. It should be useable. it measures about 2-1/2"T x 2"W.

Best offer/trade

Reminds me of the water pumps that the Great Western Sugar Company used to use in their little 0-4-0 tank engines. It was mounted on the floor on the firemans side. None of the kids they had operating the locos were able to use a normal injector, hence the pumps to get the water into the boilers.

This would be something for those favoring monster engines in 1:20.3… It’d still be 45" tall.

Mik;

The big boiler plant at my college (now over 44 years ago) had a feedwater pump similar to that. Those boilers supplied heat for much of the campus, so I suppose they got fairly thirsty.

Best,
David Meashey
