I just reserved a seat for the Railfan Special tomorrow.
Very cool. I'm sure you'll have some great pictures :) Ralph

Great video, Jon!!! I don’t know that I’ve ever seen the little stuff pulling the big guys, yet I know they did it.

Whoa, little #6 slipped a bit just as stack came on screen!

I haven’t sorted through all 800 pictures yet, but here are a few of Al having entirely too much fun… [url=lsc.cvsry.com/Post/NERM-05-30-10_01-1200.JPG]

Excellent  800 pictures in one day. Where did you find the time to eat, drink and use the rest room  Ralph

I miscounted, it was 6090, not 800, and it wasn't even a full day :D I arrived about 1:30, chased the 2:00 train, rode the railfain special at 4:00 which after 3 run-bys with the steam engine, changed power to a UB-25, then went back down to the shops in the train for a tour. We got back to Thomaston about 7:00. There were several wood/steel boxcars at the station I wanted detail photos of. I took my last shot at about 8:00 PM.

Kewl pix, Jon…

Jon,

thanks for the nice pic’s and comments. the loco that took you to the shop is a U23b and is ex P&W nee Conrail and is supposed to be the last U boat built. our New Haven U25-B is located @ our chase yard and is out of service for the forseable future. Good to meet you and thanks for supporting the Railroad Museum Of New England

Thanks for the correction. It was great to meet you and see where you spend your free time. This was my first visit while the RR was open. I had been to the station once while it was closed and just peered through the windows. You guys have a great operation going. Everyone from RMNE I came in contact with was super friendly and showing their pride in the organization.

I can’t wait for that RS-3 to be back in service - I’ll definitely be up a few times to hear it. I’ve seen the Housy’s a couple of times, but without ALCO power it might as well be a static display

There oughta be a 12 step program for that. Or a support group......for the family :D Ralph

Oops. Should have read 600

Thanks for the info , a great 0-4-0 steam locomotive well operated , with a perfect whistle to my ears , I could not stop watching the several youtube videos of it .

Patiently waiting for some more pictures
Ralph

he took 600 pictures, and we got 2???

I feel like we got screwed… This topic definitely needs more pictures…

Nice shots, Jon…

Jon, I know you always provide plenty of pics. So I’m not going to hound you for pics like those other fellows  . I’m not going to say a word about more pics. You know how some just aren’t patient when it comes to those items that are worth a thousand words.
So I won’t ask for pics, or hint about pics, or even mention pics cause I know you’ll do the right thing and provide us with twenty or thirty thousand words to show how your trip was. You can even give us one or two thousand words to describe Al.

Pics would be easier

, Dave…

Glad I could help Andy

Did somebody mention pix would be nice?..
