Steam days at Williams Grove 2010

Was at Williams Grove, PA today with the family which is a very neat place(with a ton of history) that the local Graingers are struggling to keep hold of and preserve. It was mostly tractors but a good bit of train related stuff there as well. Here’s a photo dump of what I caught today.

Just a great name!

The sawmill was up and running as well.

The track gang

A donkey

A tie fire

Some custom machining and serious scratchbuilding

Now to finish the day off I ran into a gentleman that I knew, my son and myself got to climb on his beautifully restored Case and blow his whistles. The boy wouldn’t pull the big one but I sure did and the echo off the mountain was bone chilling. I stood in the shower this evening giggling like a school boy thinking about pulling on that whistle. INCREDIBLE!! I’m still giggling and a great day with the family so I thought I would share!

Nice. The show runs through Monday. I’m tempted to make a long day trip

It’s a nice show. I haven’t been there in 8 or 9 years, tho. Nice to see the 0-6-0 running. I think it was still in the weeds when we were there.

Wow, great stuff! Thanks for sharing the pics!
