I wonder how much of it is actually just NOS (new old stock) items left over from the EPL days?Like Les says, it remains to be seen what actually makes it into the new production runs under Marklin. An actual official catalog would be nice. We likely will not see one till after the New Year at the earliest.
Apart from some track, all the other stuff is NOS.
It’s a no brainer … the more you ship out the door the less you have to move when vacating the premises at Saganer Str.
The NTF will be from February 7th to 12th 2008! New catalogues, flyers etc. etc. should be good and ready by then.

- I can hardly wait 'til my KISS engines show up - and chuckles at those who are not even aware of the alternatives. The “chuckle” is that it has taken this long for you to put your money where your mouth is. I have had a beautiful Kiss Bernina Zweikraftlok for nearly as long as you have been “into” largescale.
Imagine this, it’s official! KISS now produces the Gem 4/4 in the plastic version.
Original version, version after the overhaul and to boot the FO Gm 4/4.
Now if I would model Bernina … hmmmm … or I could use one for Rotary service …
Oh BTW it’s a regular bargain at 1295 Euro.

Still smiling! That comes to $1921.64 plus shipping. For a plastic diesel! That’s more than I paid for the brass version. If the former LGB came out with one for that price, you would be screaming bloody murder.
But, don’t worry I won’t hold my breath waiting for you to pop for one.

I have just been told by one of my favourite suppliers here in Australia that supply of all but the basic stuff (and alot of that too) has dried up again.
We had all of a week or two there when supplies from the cleanout of the sheds at Nurnberg arrived, but since then…
Supplies are hand to mouth at best in oz. The wholesaler sells out before the container hits the docks, and what is actualy in the container is pretty hit and miss too.
Just try adding the cost of shipping to the price of track ex NA. Brass aint lite and USPS only does air mail now!
Lets just hope that production in Hungary (or where) ever gets going soonish!
What is the usual pattern, demo goods at the Nurnberg show then start production of the items, or build up stock to provide to dealers as soon as they are shown off to the rest of the world? I know this is a new world order but what is the form for these events?
Anyone want to guess just how long it will take after the range is exposed in public before we start to see meaningful levels of stock again.
Marklin has spent a good size chunk of money, they must want return on investment soon?
Geoff.
My local dealer received the other day:
2 packs of brass track slide connectors.
1 pack of 12 volt interior light.
1 bottle of smoke fluid.
That’s it; after 8 months and just 5 items out of a bigger order.
He’s becoming a Lionel dealer. Says there is more reliability in shipments and profit in it for him.
Sooo, if LGB is shipping items,
it sure aint up here!

If sources are correct, LGB®Märklin has moved to the new place in Nürnberg. Let’s hope the machinery got moved to Györ, is being set up before the Christmas break so that production starts in the new year. That gives them 6 weeks to get stuff “in the pipe” prior to the Nürnberg Fair.
As far as hic-ups during start up … anyone’s guess, but Märklin has been doing “things” for a long time and it isn’t rocket science.
I’m sure the pressure is on to show results! OTOH what do I know!?!
BUT I’m fairly certain that we’ll see new stuff from LGB® Märklin long before we see a USRA 0-6-0 from LGBoA!
In his infinite wisdom, HJ mumbled:
“BUT I’m fairly certain that we’ll see new stuff from LGB® Märklin long before we see a USRA 0-6-0 from LGBoA!”
Or a 2-8-0 from Aristocraft…
Who me? Worry?
By the time I have all the Kadees installed on the equipment they belong on it will be Spring anyway, it’s a bugger when you have to bash so much LGB stuff first. But it’s moving along!
But bashing things is what it’s all about!

Warren, That has been my speech since Y2K. If it doesn’t fit, bash it!!!

A dealer in Ill just posted on his web site 'Marklin/LGB just arrived ' and prices , I also asked about something that I needed , he now has it on order for me , 10 day delivery to me .I have delt with Jim Kirk for a long time , and the pizza is good there .
Ok , I received the LGB items that I had ordered from Pizzatrains , today .
Looks like it was 15 days instead of 10 , oh yes , the items were catenary related items that had been , out of stock , from almost everywhere in the US .

CraigWarren Mumpower said:Interesting comment I read on a forum today: the agreement that LGBoA signed with LGB®Märklin supposedly expires at the end of this year. Hmmm if that is a fact, that would mean that all the distributors and dealers got the same deal.
First, Wendell, lets let Marklin raise LGB from the ashes. It will take a while. That hobbyshop is gouging and counting on people to be in a panic. I'm sure that 2 years down the road everything that LGB made..as far as parts will be available either through LGBoA or an aftermarket manufacturer. To my knowledge there are several vendors that are getting parts from the outsource manufacturers until Marklin can ramp up and provide them through it's own network. LGBoA will be the place to go to get any LGB products that are produced by Marklin.
Hi Craig,
Welcome to LSC! The forum with the difference.
HJ,
After looking at these articles from a German business news publication it would seem that Maerklin might have more to worry about than the distribution situation with LGBoA!
http://www.suedwest-aktiv.de/region/nwz/goeppinger_kreisnachrichten/3518455/artikel.php
Quite right, Marvin, just as I mentioned once or twice. Now if you would know what circulates behind the scenes, well … as the saying goes “it will be a very, very, very cold day in hell when …”
OTOH I seem to recall that one of your many personas mentioned somewhere that LGB®Märklin was in the process of approaching the large LS dealers in the USA in a direct manner, by-passing LGBoA.
Possible, but as usual I wait for a really reliable source to confirm that! I will even “wait 'til next week”, no problem!
Blah, blah, blah…
You’re welcome! You should get a different email address for each of your personas! Those of us who have good memories can easily tie two and two together. In your case it usually adds up to a dozen - personas, that is.
