Large Scale Central

Station

Folks,

Good Morning!

I have been fascinated by the stations people have in the layout! Some really complex and some more straight out of the box. Some of the stations are priced a little too steep. I saw a POLA G 330901 Schonweiler priced at 549.00 in my local hobby shop (plus taxes). Is this an OK price? Also is there a recommeded place folks have had prior expreince buying stations/buildings. Used is perfectly fine and I am perfectly OK paying shipping charges. I live in the beautiful Northwest! Any recommendations you have would be super!!!

Have a fantastic weekend!!!

Cheers
Saul

YOu should look at Colorado Modles. they have lots of modles at good prices. You will have to put it togather and paint it yourself but that will allow you to use your colors and make it yours. hope this helps out.

Wow. $549 US for a mass produced building kit? I have no idea if that’s good or bad, but there is no way I would pay that for 1 mass produced building. I think Dave Marconi would sell you his beautiful, and huge, station for close to that

On Evil Bay I believe The Favorite Spot is selling a number of Pola buildings there. The have been going from under $100 to $130 I believe!! If I can get a link I’ll post it here. Check it out! Regal

Here are 3 links one to the Favorite, and the others to Pianoworks, and Blackforest Hobbies! All carry buildings and stations. Just clik on see other items. Regal

Absolfreakinlutely not!
I’ll steal that station off of a friends of mine’s layout and sell it to you for fifty bucks.

What part of the PNW are you from?
And who’s that LHS? Not East Side Trains, is it?

Saul- I gather from the building you are asking about, that you are looking for a European outline building? Pola prices have gone up quite a bit, but with some lurking, they can be had for much cheaper. One of the rare-ish RhB ones went for $165 on eBay last week. The post to the Piko depots above is another option, they have a few nice ones, both US and European outline. I have “Austrianized” their large “Sonneneberg” one,

…and ready to do the same to another shortly using two of the Rosenbach stations shown above. Do be careful tho, a couple of the Piko ones including one in the links above are 1:32, not 1:22.5. There are a lot of options including Shawn’s on buildings. If your interest is US outline, there are a LOT more options open to you, so ask away!

Thanks for all the feedback folks! I am going to go with Colorado models! Will let you all know how it goes!!!

They seem pretty good! Do they ship promptly? Has anyone used them recently! Some of the webpages are missing and 1-2 links dont work…Just wanted to check…

Thanks all!!!
