Station and mine

I have been away for a while, and finished a couple of projects so thought I would post pics Water tank roof had to be replaced so I got a sheet of plastic, a calculator, and ended up with a pretty decent roof for the tank.

built a mine shaft shoring out of paint sticks

And finally got myself a station built

Nice!

What ? No shake shingles on the tank roof. How could you.

I could tell you how to do it… if you change your mind.

Good Job

Thanks guys. Dave, I tried a shake roof, but was not impressed with the results even kinda, so went simpler…

I like your water tower it looks alot like mine. As you can see I didn’t even attempt a roof. I did use real chain anda fishing weight for the counter weight setup.

I also like your mine opening build it looks good that you continued inside as well. Todd

Well, were it not for roofless water towers, we would not have had the pretty maidens peering out of the water tower as the Hooterville Cannonball approached the Shady Rest Hotel in the Petticoat Junction series.

I also believe there was a “steamy” scene in a roofless water tower at the beginning of the movie version of Wild Wild West.

I like both of your tanks.

Have fun,
