I sent a request for some quite difficult stencil-style lettering to Stan earlier this afternoon, remembering that he is seven hours behind us here. It’s a custom decalling job for my totally scratch-build project - the ex-SAR brake van now running on the Welsh Highland Railway.
Stan just called to me up to tell me that they are in the mail.

Here in yUK, the one custom decal maker there seems to be still in operation hasn’t responded to emails for months…
Ordinary decals for 16mm scale are starting to cost as much as asking Michelangelo to make 'em. Two sets of PW [crest] FR for my Ffestiniog ‘Harlech Castle’ - a roundhouse model, cost over sixty bucks. Even the un-striped model was over a thousand pounds here - applying two bits of yellow vinyl cost another fifty bucks…
