Stainless Steel Track Debate Continues

ok, SS track is superior to brass in the fact that its proneness to being damaged and needing cleaning is lessened…but arent there more considerations such as appearence, affordability, and ease of use??? i know for a fact stainless requires quite a bit of pressure to ‘form’ SS…i also know for a fact that it is harder to cut as well…the oxidation that does occur, will always be a silvery grey with spots of white thruout…how realistic looking is that??? i am asking how you steam era modelers feel about using SS say, if you were just starting out, or adding on to an existing layout??? would’nt a smaller code rail in SS (like 250 for example) be as easily damaged as code 332 brass rail???
