The centercab does fit through the tunnel on the Dirty and Dusty Railway but it is breathtaking. There’s about two-feet of clearance at the top and sides (1-inch). I think I will be posting speed restrictions! The tunnel was just rebuilt last summer because the Shay wouldn’t fit. When you build a tunnel make sure you have clearance!

I float my tracks so I have to inspect the tunnel tracks to make sure the weather hasn’t pushed my tracks off-center!
That was the main reason I bought my center cab, shortly after beginning work on my layout. I’d heard that if you have enough clearance for the center cab, just about anything else you might ever run in the future would probably fit.
