Large Scale Central

Springtime

Well as the story goes the first day of good weather ( woke up to high 30’s and by 8am it was mid 40’s sunny and bright) and time to work on the railroad. Ol’ M.T. Pockets headed to the office and realized that being the CEO of a multi-million ideas company wasn’t all it was cracked up to be. Due to the fall in the economy this past year, and running on a $10 a year income , less taxes, he realized that he would have to multi task in order to keep the railroad in operation. After considerable review of the companies’ current financial situation M.T. came to the conclusion that he would have to take on the position of Chief Property Manager with a subordinate staff of one, including himself. So donning his old denims and fleece lined jacket M.T. set out with his trusty tool cart to see what havoc the winter had bestowed on the line.

Some of what M.T. found of the winter havoc As small towns oft times will do, some of the neighbors saw M.T.'s plight, and filed in behind with tools in tow.

Needle with Paul Bunyan Nester Dick, aka ‘Needle’ brought his favorite rake ‘Paul Bunyan’ and the job at hand was cut down to size.

Winter debris Also pitching in were Sum Yung Girl, a recent immigrant from China, and the ever in charge A. Hole, Major retired US Army.

Eight hours later the property was void of fallen debris. Tomorrow M.T. hopes to run the line for an inspection tour to make sure there are no wash outs or slides that need to be addressed before the first train of the year sets out.

I’m not sure which I enjoyed more, the pics or the story…Nice job on the clean up, M.T. Thanks for the post, David.

Looks like you had a busy day. The weather was beautiful here too.
In the late afternoon when the thermometer was in the sun…it hit 86 degrees.
Ralph

David, nice cleanup… Should I mention, you need to run some freight and passenger cars to make money…

Andy, While that’s normally true, on the LS ML & E the slogan is ‘Come On And Take A Free Ride’ with passengers and ‘Your money’s not welcome here’ for freight

What a way to run a railroad.......... :)

It’s spring on the western desert. The lettuce is up!

Finally got everything done and able to relax a little. Had Ralph Berg stop in for too short a time. He didn’t bring anything to run so we put a short run together.

After a light pad wipe no problems with the track.

Cool. Just what I was waiting to see
A station that large…needs a passing siding
Ralph

SWEET!

Those doom cars really set the station off, looks great. Agree with Ralph, add a passing siding or 2, but what do I know.
