Spring Thaw Plow Extra

With late afternoon sun and temps in the 50’s , it looked like a good day to get a train out. The outdoor division has been unusable most of the winter due to ice. Last week’s storm was too deep to plow, but we’ve had melting every day this week so it looked possible. The first run ran straight up Indian Hill and packed as much snow as we could shove into Deep Cut… [url=lsc.cvsry.com/PlowSpring09_01-1280.JPG]

Once clear of the switch at WALK we took the East Leg and plowed to Deep Cut. [url=lsc.cvsry.com/PlowSpring09_04-1280.JPG]

Deep Cut will require excavating machinery, or a few more days of 50+ temps. I’m actually quite surprised that this heavy train did not have problems. Much of the track under the train in the first picture has had it’s ballast washed away and there is a nasty frost heave to camera right at Walk crossing. Other than knocking the plow off the tracks ramming drifts, there were no operational problems.

Great pictures, looks nice with the snow still. I just had to clear the one drift that does not want to melt. Hopping to get running tomorrow

Imagine my surprise when I looked out the kitchen window this morning and ALL of the snow in these pictures is gone  I’m sure glad I got one last chance to play with the plow yesterday. Chances are pretty good we won’t be seeing any more accumulations until December.

You’re complaining?

Me. Complain???

I’m ready for spring. Started looking around the RV this morning. I just didn’t get many chances to play with the plow this year because of ice.

Didn’t get to plow at all…nothing but ice here…
Beautiful day here today and got to move some leaves around only to find spring growth underneath…I’m excited for tomorrow but I think this weekend is a teaser, got a few more weeks yet.

I love the NW high hood. You got that on battery power don’t you?

Plow hasn’t gone this year. Everything came with an inch of ice first. It has sat on the ready track, but unused.

We will see more snow. We always get teased like this. get a few days and next thing you know we get a foot of snow. We are not out of the clear until after the first week of April. then its safe to say Spring is here.
