With late afternoon sun and temps in the 50’s , it looked like a good day to get a train out. The outdoor division has been unusable most of the winter due to ice. Last week’s storm was too deep to plow, but we’ve had melting every day this week so it looked possible. The first run ran straight up Indian Hill and packed as much snow as we could shove into Deep Cut… [url=lsc.cvsry.com/PlowSpring09_01-1280.JPG]

Once clear of the switch at WALK we took the East Leg and plowed to Deep Cut. [url=lsc.cvsry.com/PlowSpring09_04-1280.JPG]

Deep Cut will require excavating machinery, or a few more days of 50+ temps. I’m actually quite surprised that this heavy train did not have problems. Much of the track under the train in the first picture has had it’s ballast washed away and there is a nasty frost heave to camera right at Walk crossing. Other than knocking the plow off the tracks ramming drifts, there were no operational problems.
