Speaking of the Roving Rooster

I think Geico heard about the famous Roving Rooster because they made a commercial about him and he even rides a train!

Yeah, the first time I saw that, I immediately thought of the Roving Rooster!

I saw that today. Thanks for posting - it saves me finding it.

How come they get the sane rooster? (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-foot-in-mouth.gif)

They are apparently aware of Rooster’s photo dumps.

At first I thought the Geico commercial was silly…then I thought of you guys! (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

I immediately thought of ONE guy…(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

At first, I thought of my lovely brides hens, then I thought of this:

Roooster hitchin’ a ride on Kevin Weiderstrom’s 12 inch gauge Great Northern and Cascade Railway in Skykomish, WA. Look hard, he’s just behind the horns.

I never bother with “Roving barnyard misfits”, but when I see that Ken has posted something on this thread; I just had to take a look.

Up here the only roving barnyard animules that are common, are horses, cattle, donkeys, and stray farmers after a night in a local pub.

I did once meet a local milk maid, but she proved not to be up to par with the much sought after, “Lock Master’s Daughter” of my dreams.

I keep hoping in my heart to find my one and only. I even met a fair maiden at the bar in the Holiday Inn at York, one year. She was with a bowling convention, and was a foundry worker…but not the maiden of my dreams. I keep looking…

What’s that got to do with Roving Roosters? (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-surprised.gif)

Not much, but what has anything here to do with operating a railroad…!!!

Are we having fun yet ?..or are we waiting for the PARTIES at York…!!!

LOL…we went from wandering chickens to maybe trying to find our own Fr. Fred a Fair Maiden. Sorry Fred, just teasing.

Now Fred …you know darn well you enjoy, enjoyed hangin with Rooster and we have pics to prove it!

…ahhh…the maiden of my dreams…and right there with glasses of holy water to be tested…and something breathing down my back…!!!

…oh wait…I forgot…that’s a hot roast of fowl, on the hoof…!!!

…oh, I’m sorry, David…that’s your pet bird, that got loose again…you need a better cage, or barnyard fence…

Thinking about Fr. Fred and his fair haired maiden reminded me that back in 1988 I got new employment in a large store and was responsible for furniture and floorcoverings. One day. during a lull in customers, talk of cigars arose. I mentioned that my cigars (actually I smoked very few) preferably had to be hand rolled on the thighs of a dusky maiden.

When it was my birthday I was advised that some staff had got me a small present. Well, it wasn’t a dusky maiden but I quite enjoyed the cigar. (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif)

I

Who said that while hanging around a good model railroad web site, that the conversations wouldn’t be diversified…but generally the word “Railroad” or “Railway” does get us back on some topic involving that mode of transportation, and somehow, barnyard animules, “Dusky” or otherwise, maidens, poke their sweet heads in for fun and games. Oh what a wonderful World we have…along with the “Colour” here on LSC…

Hmmmmm… In 1988, I was on liberty in Singapore, at Tanjong Pagar Station smoking a Cuban, in the company of a dusky maiden (she said her father was a lock master), watching the departure of the Eastern and Oriental Express.
