OK, the CCRy main line from Mound House is about 4.5% and most Rod Engines have no problem with that grade. Apart of my RR has 3.5% and I have no problem. How to get that grade correct? I use a 24" metal level and cut small blocks using an engineers tape to measure 0.2 hunderts of a foot for 1%! Some use a ‘stepped block’ to do the same thing.
