I was just thinking about something as I replaced my original Shay plastic trucks with the new metal ones. In all the reading on the subject, one thing that has come up is the spring on the power pickups getting hot, fatigued, melting plastic, etc. as these engines get older, parts become harder to find. Should I order spare of some parts like these pickups? Any other parts come to mind?
