Of course they gotta be big enough to hold an adult beverage or two.

Outstanding!

Make some can-cozies that look like a rain barrel and you’re done.

Yep that is where I got the idea Randy.

The coozies would be awesome, I have a mission now.

Randy,

What were the dimensions of your bridge ties, and what was your spacing between them??

Jake,

I made them 3/8" X 1/2" X 5 7/8".
The height and width to match the AMS 250 flex track that I am using.

Also I space them about 5/8" apart.

Hey Jake,

I cut smaller pieces of material that I use as spacers between each tie. Allows me alittle uniformity and makes putting the ties down alot faster.

Chuck

I finished installing all the bridge ties on the bridge. Here are some pictures of the finished product.

I matched the dimensions of my ties to that of the Sunset Valley ties I have for my flextrack and then made them 5" long. I experimented with a few different lengths and decided the 5" looked the best. I cut all the ties from Redwood and lost count at 300 ties, but my guess is the 400 - 500 range. I stained the ties a dark brown color to match the flextrack ties. I will be out of town this weekend and am waiting on some spikes so I probably wont start spiking down rail this weekend.

This is going to be a good place for some nice photo shoots.

your already in “building mode”

Vic,
I knew I was keeping all those boxes 0f lincon(sp?) logs,
i’d picked up at yard sales, for something.
Those log trestles would be a perfect use for them once
i treat them with some kind of preservative.

Ugh, I started spiking rail yesterday in 98 degree heat. Was a challenge but I managed to get about half done. Pictures to follow soon.
