Is anyone going??
Yep I’ll be there on Sat for sure. Will see if I decide to go up Friday and spend the night. Later RJD
When is it and where in GA.?
I googled it and came up with the old SELSTS show.
Ralph
Here is a link to the site.
The show opens to the public at noon on Friday. Friday morning is going to be for local schools to have class trip time without the crowds (I think it is a great idea). Being as they are opening late they are also closing at 9:00pm on Friday. Saturday will be the usual hours.
I will be with the Emerald Coast Garden Railway Club.

Thanks Bob.
I might go. This one is in day trip range. It would be a long day though.
Ralph
Ralph,
That would be a long day. From my mom’s place in Sevier Co. TN, it is about 3 hrs, and I know it takes about 1 1/2 hrs (when the interstate is open to get to Ashville. Bring a train, I am sure we can find a run time for ya.
Bob C.
The map shows 4 1/2 hours through Atlanta. 5 1/2 hours through Knoxville, because of the detour on 1-40.
1-40 is supposed to be open by then. But I wouldn’t wager any money on that.
280 miles by road. Looks like maybe 150 miles as the crow flies.
Ralph
Ralph,
Dalton is about 45 minutes north of Atlanta. Through Chatanooga would be a better bet, although I have not looked at the maps. I hope you can make it, I look forward to meeting the personality behind the keyboard.

Be looking forward to you all showing up. GGRS Later RJD
Lois and I will know if we will be there for sure, at the ECLSTS at York next week.
We enjoyed the Perry shows and the people we met there.
The Dalton show will be closer than Perry for us. Cutting down travel time by a few hours.
I’d really like to go, but for me, it is just the wrong time of the year.
Yep you all need to get your plans made and think about coming to the banquet on Thursday evening. It will be in a differet location and food much better than last year.
Banquet. The buffet-style banquet will be held at 7:00 pm on Thursday, April 29, the evening before the show opens. The location is the Dalton Train Depot Restaurant, 110 Depot Street, Dalton, Georgia. The menu is a barbecue dinner. Dr. Joe Nichols, Sr., will give the banquet talk on “Early Railroad History in Georgia.” We also plan on giving away a nice selection of door prizes at the banquet.
Tickets are $25 and can be ordered from Frances Tidd/SEGRS Tickets, 3540 Cove Creek Court, Cumming, GA, 30040. Be sure to include a stamped, self-addressed envelop with your order.
Hope to see ya there Later RJD GGRS
Now Ric that’s no excuses as you been to the Perry show when it was cold. Later RJD
This was a great show last year, really enjoyed it. Going this year for sure, just got off the phone on some arrangements with dad coming with me this year also.
Last year’s show is the only train show I have been to in over 25 years where I was able to buy everything on my list!
Safe travelling all you intrepid attendees.
I am leaving in the am for a 4,500 km Round Trip to Brisbane to see my Mum for her 95th birthday. Plus catch up with Tony Weber and Peter Nelson.
Well be safe Tony and maybe some day you can make it to the good old USA for a show. Later RJD
FYI, NCDOT and TDOT have re-opened I-40 on the NC-TN border:
I was looking forward to this show. But the boss informed me yesterday…I have to work Saturday.
Hope you all enjoy yourselves and have a great show.
