Gentlemen:
Just purchased Bachmann Saddle Tank loco and I’m thinking about sound. How involved is it to install a PH11 unit? This loco will run indoor on DC.

It isnt too bad. The “dummy” board on the top is clearly labeled what wires go where. It is a little more involved but follow the directions and it should go just fine. My advice is wire to the dummy board and not the main board. That gives you the ability to remove the Phoenix sound board without having to un-solder connections from the board.
I am planning to use a Titan (It shipped today, Yay!!!) in mine because of the plug-and-play ability it has.

Not to change your mind, but a QSI Titan will just plug into the socket and provide superior effects, and will hook into the chuff circuit too.
