Large Scale Central

Sometimes you have to bring out the "Good Stuff"

HJ, I bet you thought I sold this off long ago, huh? I finally got around to Batt/RC the loco. All cars are fully “peopled” with passengers. Now I need batteries for the coach lights.

That’s a neat train John even if it is “furrin”! Very nice!

Love it!!!

Some of my fellow club members do not understand my love of both American NG and Euro/Rhb. I swear I was beginning to wonder if anyone else in the lower 48 ever bought any Euro LGB!

JB,

Nope, I was pretty sure you would keep it. The red is a nice contrast on that trestle.

BTW your scenery/gardening has come a long way. Last I remember was a lot of round boulders all over the place with sand or gravel in between.

What are the chances of getting 3 replies within 9 seconds?

Mark,
I have that Glacier Express, a DR passenger train and an Austrian “bottle train”.
The DB and the Bottle were run once last year, but it’s prolly been 10 years
or more since the RhB was run. I thought it was time to get it out.

That is a nice looking train you have there John and it looks good on your layout

very nice John

JB has moved over to the dark side, running “not steam.” :stuck_out_tongue:

…:)…
You need an F45 John with some El’ Captain Santa Fe chair cars now!

Stop drooling Mike, John didn’t get them off that high shelf for you. Not yet anyway. LOL

Getting back to “The Good Stuff” which very easily can include steam.

RhB rules! The funky red liveries are relatively recent, errrr in abundance for the last 35 or so years. Before then it was a “very easy on the eyes” GREEN.

John I have always liked that set especially the Glacier Express. There is something about it that I really like. By the way your layout looks great you need to post pictures of your layout more often. Very nice.

HJ nice layout and video. Your another one that doesnt post enough pictures. So many great looking layouts out their. You guys have to show them off.

HJ,
Still not finished yet. (I wait for nursery store closeouts in the fall.  )
There is one area that resembles a nuclear wasteland. Working on that this year.

Yea, that's what I remember too. With a few trestles here and there.

I'll second that!......................;)

It’s all good stuff
I’d like to see more of JB’s layout too

“I swear I was beginning to wonder if anyone else in the lower 48 ever bought any Euro LGB!” Mark V; Back when I first started in large scale (1985/1986), I bought a lot of European stock. There was little else available. Much of my European outline equipment has been sold. Some of it (Gasp!) got “North Americanized.”

Other pieces were adapted to special purpose jobs, like the track sweeper/rail head cleaner below.

(Now all the jokes about “nose glasses” will crop up again.) A few pieces have kept their original shape with some modifications.

I actually hope to be able to purchase more of the gable-bottomed feldbahn hopper cars someday.

So you are not alone. Best, David Meashey

Thanks Shawn!

Most of my slow progress is recorded on my hobby website, including a few of the scratch builds and kitbashing projects. A work in progress with a lot more to come.

Hi Dave:

You need to buy a " Mr. Potato Head " to place above that moustache mounted at the end of that coal gondola !
