Large Scale Central

Something to ponder

There are nearly as many unaffiliated voters as there are Democrats or Republicans. Obama proved how effective private campaign finance via the masses can be. If you couple the two notions–fundraising that’s broad-based and independent of the party machines, and a large pool of unaffiliated voters who (in theory) base their decisions on a candidate’s policies, is it possible that a strong unaffiliated candidate could make a serious run for the White House? Or, is the party-based campaign machine still too important, regardless of funding?
