Found another interesting car that @manimal might be interested in. ACMX 400/401
You really need to talk to a professional about your flywheel fetish !
I love that “raised center” flat, I’ve only ever seen a drop center. Makes good sense!
IF i remember correctly, KODAK of Rochester NY once had a “Raised Centre” flat car. I think it was only used on their plant trackage, and was not in interchange service…a picture once appeared in possibly Rail Road Magazine.

What in tarnation is that ?
Wait it’s a turbo charger for the Jolly Green Giants snow mobile minus the impeller!
Hah…answered my own question!
Almost. It’s called a scroll case, goes in between the penstock (the long tube bringing water from the lake), and the turbine itself.
I got to climb in one back in the day during inspections - freaky to know that only a thin metal stop gate at the top of the penstock was all that was between me and mince.
Cheers

It’s a sign, Dan, that you need to build one…
The Allis-Chalmers cars are too old for me but I did find this one owned by Hydro-Quebec.

Ooh, a 4 truck Schnabel-like car…
