Something different for weeding tracks!

Saw this on another forum…never even heard of a track mower before:

That thing looks like a torture device!

Very cool, I’d hate to fall off the front though.

Ray, you should model this.

Terry

Now that is Neat! Better than dumping all kinds of chemicals on the weeds. It must have a gas motor and the blades are powered off the front wheels. Also of note are the guides that must sit on the tracks.
I wonder how many miles they could do a day?

Terry have you seen photos of Rays RR ? The last thing he has is a problem with grass! LOL

It must have been uncomfortable driving it into a head wind .

Little green men on the track ?

Call a UFOlogist .

Its been done in HO scale

I do believe that falls under the “Need!” category.

Oh and there is a modern version BTW - (http://www.cottonvalley.org/images_2008/dsc01797.jpg)

Cool, Now I know I have seen a photo of a largescale grass/weed trimmer that someone made using a boxcar and model airplane motors with propellers. Watch those fingers!

Get Building

That HO model is cool! Very much captures the look of the prototype.

I was thinking of trying to make something similar to that the other day. I had not considered putting sliders on it so it would follow the rails. Gee, it looks dangerous in real life though.
