Worthwhile pics Mik and Steve; they serve as a great reminder. I found it interesting looking at them.
Back all those years ago lots of folk, some still alive, remember waving goodbye to those Canadian and American troops from these shores of SW England. It is worth remembering that in many cases their last ‘goodbyes’ were with folks here and not their families and friends back home.
Even the pictures of that beach landing look scary as all hell. I couldn’t imagine what was going through their minds at that time.
