I am trying to up my modeling skilles by learning to lay my own track . My wife gave me more space for the train. But store track is getting to expensive. I would like to learn to make my own track, but not to sure how to get started and if it will save me any money. Have been looking on line, but have not been able to find a good source for brass 332 track. (At least that is my best guess on my outdoor track), I have been using LGB track and need to match up to it. Any ideas would be very appreciated.
You should have posted this under “Tracks and Trestles” as it might get lost in this section. I’m of no help but plenty here are.
Good Luck

Eddie,
Indoors you can make your own wood ties, and buy tie plates (or spike without plates.)
You will also need a rail bender.
Outdoors, go with store bought.
Eddie,
If you have to buy the rail, making your own track probably wouldn’t save a lot of money.
I’d keep an eye on eBay for used track.
