All of the models offered here are Pilot models with one exception. I designed them using Solidworks in 3d and created the 2d Laser cut files, and 3d printed all the white metal detail masters.
First up is V&T ventilated boxcar #1007. This was designed with the aid of Mike Collins 2d AutoCAD drawings. I built this back in the 2022 time frame. Iron Creek Shops is currently making a small run of this kit, price is currently unknown. You can follow Cliff’s build here or buy one already built up. The prototype car is a canary yellow of sorts, however I chose a different car # and painted a more subdued boxcar red. All the doors can be carefully positioned.
Asking $350.00 plus shipping and insurance.
Next is V&T locomotive transfer flat #1. This was designed with the aid of Mike Collins 2d AutoCAD drawings. I built this back in the 2020 time frame. As shown in the picture I added a set of standard gauge rails and another style V&T Kimball truck for the V&T tank cars, which I also designed but decided not to build.
As shown asking $400.00 plus shipping and insurance. I will separate the trucks and their brake beams out and offer them separately for $125.00, thus reducing the flat car to $275.00
Next is a pair of Standard Gauge trucks of D&RG vintage. This is one of the last projects I printed for Bob Hartford. At the time his eye site was getting bad and he had to give up working on projects such as these. They are display only trucks as they have an aluminum axles and 3D printed 33” wheels. May need a little paint touch up as well. Good for a flat car load!
Asking $50.00 plus shipping and insurance.
Finally a model I finished earlier this year. D&RG engine transfer flat X001. This was designed from D&RG blueprints. This is the model that the above trucks were intended for. Bob made some initial work in this are but the details were not completely flushed out, like the brake system. It has a continuous drawbar that functions. The trucks were completely redesigned to use real wood where the prototype did. I do not know if this car was actually built, as I have found no record of its existence. It was built around the time the mainline was standard gauged, so the supposition is that it was used to transport narrow gauge locomotives back to Denver from Utah. In one of the photos posted below I took it over to a friend’s 3 rail Wye and placed his C-16 on it. As you can see it barely fits w/o the cab.
Asking $275.00 plus shipping and insurance.
