SoCal Los Angeles Pink Foam at Burbank Home Depot

SoCal Los Angeles Pink Foam at Burbank Home Depot.

Just an FYI if anyone in the SoCal area needs rigid foam insulation, Home Depot in Burbank is stocking 2" x 4’ x 8’ and 1/2" x 4’ x 8’ pink foam, its identical to the blue foam I usually use and see used to model here. You can still get the blue foam at Foam Sales Inc in Burbank, but Home Depot is open weekends when I can get there. 2" panel: $34 + tax

Yeah our HD has 1/2,1, and 2"

This is the first HD here stock it. No freezing winters to insulate against so this stuff is rare here.

Never thought about that lol. It’s everywhere up here.

NOTE: On using the pink or blue foam board. The recent panels that I purchased had a thin plastic sheet applied to both sides. I think that this is a vapor barrier. If you are going to glue up pieces to get a thicker stack. You should peel off the plastic film before gluing. If you don’t, you can get separation of the glued up layers at the plastic to foam side, and the plastic will be glued to the plastic of the adjoining pieces, but not to the foam to foam. Easily separated plastic to foam. Without the plastic sheets, the foam itself will break before the glue joint.

Also remove the plastic if you want any paint to stick. Stays on the foam, not so good to the plastic.

The foam here doesn’t have that plastic luckily. Its plain both pink and blue I have purchased.

Gee, both the pink and blue I have purchased here have that clear(ish) plastic film on it. I peal it off, then rough up the foam a bit with a wire brush or coarse sandpaper before gluing it.
