So What Do You Think It Is???

I was cutting out parts today on the laser and came up with this to try to make life a bit easier. When the pieces are assembled, what do you think it is???

(And no, they are not pieces for a “Space Invaders” game.)

Test roller assembly.

some kind of an open box, but for what…

It’s a “wheel caddie” for cleaning those “pick-up wheels” that are not spun by a motor (e.g., tenders, lighted cars).

A Cratex disk is loaded into the Dremel and spun against the pair of wheel treads where they come together. The frame holds everything in place and keeps the treads to where the Dremel can reach them simultaneously. It was sized for the AristoCraft wheels which are the largest and have the largest flanges of any I have come across. If you look close, the flanges “almost” touch.

Todd;

Great idea. I thought it resembled a parts crate for a manufacturing plant, but could not figure out what it might hold.

Thats a cool jig, Todd. I’m sure it cuts the time to clean the treads quite a bit. I like your “clamps”.
