Snow! (I don't think I'll try it)

About 15" here so far, and about 14f. Brrr…

Bob your picture didn’t come through! We had about 6" over night, light powder, did clear a way out to the Truck, had to go to churc (no service) and take care of a few things. And it is still coming down (11AM) so time will tell. Will go to the Kids a little later, I do like 4 wheel drive! The RR is buried! Took a couple of pictures, not attached.

Paul

1300 - temp 14 degrees, wind 23 out of the nw, wind chill -4. College kid, that was suppose to work today, called in sick at 0530 to the office answering machine. Something about sick and throwing up. Sounds like a bad case of “brown bottle flu”. GRRRRR! Regular employees are taking vacation days for family Christmas gatherings. So “the ole man” had to walk the docks. One more trip out there about 1600. It certainly makes the appetite strong and also is the excuse for extra munchies and a nap during the football games.

Ric,

Dare I ask which team you follow?

Joe

There was a time we followed the Rams. For a couple of years, it was great fun. Warner still attracts our attention, when he is playing good. People in this part of the World really dislike Bidwell. Lovey Smith is a favorite, so Chicago gets some air time. Friends in Indy, so we’ve got to see what they are doing. The Mannings are always part of a good game winning or loosing and the Titans are fun to watch. Son in law is into the fantasy stuff, so that adds flavor. Actually, Jan is a bigger fan than me. I always have it on while working on a train project.

The Rams can screw up a lead as well as anyone. Got to meet Marshall Faulk and Isaac Bruce, once. Nice guys. I have a little history with Mizzou, in another life, and most of my family lives in Oklahoma, so Sooner football is always paid attention to.

I guess I just like the game.

AFter the last two storms I now have over a foot of snow on the layout. Plow is burried. I cant even see the water tower. I guess I wont see the layout until march sometime. As soon as I et over this stomach bug I will have to get working on my logging caboose and a few other projects lined up.

I don’t know about Ric but I like the Cowboys. Always have.

Sorry. I only pay attention to sports when the Cubs are in the playoffs.

Oops.

It was a brutal day today ha a low of 8 with a wind chill in the -20’s. High hit 16. Its going to be a long winter. have to get the xc skis out to pass the time

We got up in the 20’s today and repaired the roof and roof leak that was damaged in last couple of days of rain and wind. As stated in other post, lake froze over entirely last night once the wind quit. That’s 3 miles by 15 miles of ice. Usually doesn’t happen until next week between Christmas and New Year’s. Always impressive. Surprized me, because we didn’t even have much ice along the shore or in the coves. Agitators running, but ice froze over. Had to bust ice to get the melting process started. Freezing rain and snow predicted for next 24 hours. Maybe a White Christmas, break out the Bing Crosby movies and tunes. Sure builds an appetite.

Wow I wont complain about the downright BALMY 39 we have here this morning, about as cold as it gets here. Ric, not the Lambs, please, even WE were glad to be rid of them when they finally were herded onto the cattletrucks and shipped of to KC

Temperature has been around 0 for a few days. At least that blasting wind has stopped. Warmed up to the 20’s and is snowing now.

Tomorrow, we are suppose to have a high of 17 degrees and a low about 5 degrees. Many years we have been sailing around here this time of year. Gorbal Warming still has a few flaws to work out.
Global Warming is doing just fine. It as to do with the amount of energy in the atmosphere. Often that additional energy will raise the overall temperature of the globe, measured and averaged all across the globe. Often it results in increasing energy in storms. Hurricanes, tornadoes, snow storms all may be affected.

People saying: “It’s cold here now so much for Global Warming.” are like people going out at midnight in January and saying: “I thought the days were supposed to be getting longer.”

Check the loss of ice at our poles versus a measly four or five feet of snow somewhere.

CCSII -

We’d like to converse with you, but you have an unpronounceable handle and don’t list your name in your profile, or sign your posts. We’re a pretty friendly bunch; OK, we do love to argue and that can get heated, but we all remain friends in the end. We like to address each other by name or a pronounceable nickname. There’s no rule about names, in fact there are just about no rules here at all. We’d like you to continue to join the fun and it would be easier to make friends if we knew how to address you

EDIT - I just checked one of your other posts and noticed you signed your name. Thanks Charlie ! Why don’t you update your profile so everyone will know how to address you.

I bet thats Charles something something the 2nd…or Something Charles Something the 2nd…

It’s Charley Suggs.

Is that slam at Polish People? What about being politically correct? Oh the horrors. Somebody should report you to algore.

We faced freezing “gorbal warming” rain and ice today and this evening. Should warm up over the next 3 days. Seems about like has always been over these last 60 years. Its too cold, its too hot, its always too something. The sky is fallling, the sky is falling. Shut up and get inside, that’s called snow.
