Bachmann Indie 2-6-0 = 42.84mm or 1.686609 inches (https://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

you need a new calculator joe… 42.84 mm is 1.6866142 inches… (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

Greg

I used a little app called Convert. When I plug in 42.84mm it comes up 1.686609

When I convert it from 1.686609 inches to millimeters it comes up 42.83987

No wonder the app was free! (https://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-yell.gif)

The Aristo C-16 Smokebox is 2" and paint =2.009"

1 inch = 25.4 mm exactly… use your calculator… the app must not be using precision calculations!

Greg

Hi Joe and John,

Thank you for your assistance.

Bachmann Indy 2-6-0 = 42.84 mm = 1.69 inch = 1 - 11/16 inch = APPROX 1 3/4 inch

LGB TOY LINE ATLAS 0-4-0 = 47 mm = 1.85 inch = 1 - 27/32 inch = APPROX 1 3/4 inch

Aristo Craft Delton C-16 = 50.8 mm = 2 inch

50.8 mm - 42.84 mm = 7.96 mm = 0.31 inch = 5/16 inch C-16 Smokebox Diameter larger than INDY by more than 1/4 "

Norman

Hi Greg,

" you need a new calculator joe… 42.84 mm is 1.6866142 inches… (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

Greg "

42.84 mm = 1.69 inches , not 1.6866142 inches.

A calculation using an input measurement accuracy of two digits past the decimal yields a calculated output measurement accuracy of two digits past the decimal.

Just saying (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

Yes Greg, I realize that you must undoubtedly reply. Remember that line in Blazing Saddles? " I must, I simply must. ".

No offence will be taken no matter the content of your obligatory reply.

Once again, thank you to Joe & John for taking time to conduct those diameter measurements.

Norman

Dear Mr John Caughey,

One more question:

What is the Width of the C-16 Cab Rear and what is the Diameter of the Driver Wheels ( excluding flanges )

Thank you,

Norman
